ZigZag is looking for a Mechanical Designer to join our team!

About the Role
This position is responsible for ensuring the successful completion of customer design/configuration requests, as well as the implementation and validation testing of new products, and maintenance of existing products. Products will include Resistance Spot Guns, SoftMount Guns, RevTec, OHMA Presses, PedTec and KapTec.

Responsibilities:

Configure and/or customize products to suit customer application needs
Design and develop new configurable products to create / improve / enhance customer value
Identify and develop product performance and integration specifications
Manage and/or conduct prototype testing and various other design validation methods
Maintenance of existing configurable products to improve process and manufacturing efficiencies
Stress and deflection analysis through various means such as Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
Execution of engineering calculations such as static and dynamic load application
Support the team to develop and communicate product training materials to internal and external customers

Requirements:

Previous machine design and/or machine build experience desirable
FEA modelling, set up, and interpretation experience preferred
Controls / electrical design knowledge an asset
CAD modelling software experience an asset (Autodesk, inventor)
